A shine that shone
23rd February 2010I’m somebody’s fun-time girl
Somebody’s knick-knack
Somebody’s cake
Hi, I’m the boss’s girlfriend
I’m curved like the inside of a bowl looking outwards
I’m hanging on a rack
Laden with ornaments
A pussy float for rotting garb
Pleased to meet you, my style
Inside I’m tepid like a runny Sunday
Ever present in glossy tint
I am a steel spike glinting

I love this.
Especially the bowl bit.

I have no idea what a runny Sunday is but it sounds truly awful.

Isabelle: Fucking hell, I thought about you and here you are. No one would believe me but it’s true. For about two days I thought Isabelle.
Jim: It’s exactly what it sounds like, Jim.

More signs of that control here Ani. And it suits you. I like the way this subtly builds to reinforce a message. I like the bowl image and also the idea of a ‘runny Sunday’.

Weird. Ani, someone else said that to me a few days ago. I hope I’m not catching.

Jem: Aw, cheers. Runny Sunday feels good in the mouth.
Isabelle: Not catching, just desirable my dear.

Don’t like to be presumptive but, if you change every line except the last to the past tense - this empowers you.
