she’s a naughty girl with a bad habit
26th January 2009She likes putting things between her lips
Like bottle caps and pen tops and cocks
But mostly smoke
Because sometimes breathing fresh and clear
is just too hard
She likes cupcakes and twizzlers and pussy juice
But mostly smoke
Because sometimes eraser heads on pencils
just taste like rubber sweat
She likes cigarettes and apple sauce and nails
But mostly skin
to munch on, while staring blankly
Like a baby that mistakes your elbow for a teething ring

I totally like your writing. I’m trying to think of something witty of funny to type right now but my brain is sludge.

I’m always slightly embarrassed when a baby mistakes my tit for their mother’s tit.

At first I thought your work, which is undoubtedly well written, was primarily designed to shock but I decided that there was greater subtlety in it than that. Then I thought it was an expression of attitude, an attempt to craft a certain persona and I still believe there is some of that in it. Primarily though I think it explores a certain state of being, an attempt to impose innocence on unfiltered sexuality, a way of removing morality from sexuality. There is a constant thread through it of the youth of the women and their apparent failure to connect emotionally or morally with their behaviour. I think, having read your writing over a period of time now that I can respect the craft and the beauty of the form whilst remaining uncertain about the purpose.

Ugh. Breathing fresh and clear can lick my fucking balls. But skin and smoke sound soo good. You’re touching as always here. The baby? Perfect. An instinctive desire; you don’t know why, you just know it feels right (when you get it in your mouth). Deep.

*cough*
So, um, has anyone noticed the lovely weather we’ve been having recently? No?
Hello? Anyone?

T to the B: Be careful, I’ve heard the brain sludge thing becomes permanent if you read too much of my stuff. ;)
Clarissa: Oh my god yes, that’s happened to me, too! Or when the husband mistakes your tit for his wife’s, you know? [Okay, okay, that was a cheap shot. I couldn’t help it.]
Paul: I’m ashamed to be so inarticulate now, but holy fucking shit, Paul! Thank you for reading and for thinking about it to such a degree. I am flattered and very touched. As to the veracity of your conclusions, well … I couldn’t possibly comment. ;)
K: Doesn’t everyone? :)
xtx: What are you trying to do to me, woman? Phew. Mary mother of Christ, did it just get like 400 degrees in here or something?
Jack: My dearest, Jack, you are good for my below-sea-level self-esteem and therefore more than welcome to stay and say beautiful things all day. Thank you.
AUW: There’s definitely like a heatwave or something. And in late January, too!

I came to a similar conclusion as Paul about your shock tactics. I see them as not necessarily something to be ignored but not focused upon. Basically you present up with a poem with big tits and want us to look it straight in the eyes.

The poem can’t help having big tits, Jim! The poem developed at a very young age!

I haven’t viewed your site in a while, and so much to read! I love all your writings, as you probably know ;)
I can’t really put my finger on what it is about why? The imagery for me just seems to be a combination of opposites in a way… like the very mundane mixed with total fantasy, or blunt direct thoughts mixed with very subtle or abstract expression. Whatever it is, I like it. It speaks to me on more than one level, and is smart without being pretentious… which is why I like it! :D ♥
